GIZ, through its regional program, Regulatory Framework Promotion of Pro-poor Insurance Markets in Asia (RFPI Asia), will participate to the 2nd South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Insurance Regulators Meet and International Conference from 14-16 April 2014 in Karachi, Pakistan.
Dr. Antonis Malagardis, RFPI Asia program director will join 500 targeted participants, regional insurance stakeholders, participants and experts around the world in exchange of ideas, experiences and discuss the challenges, perspectives and emerging risks in the insurance market development.
Dr. Malagardis will present inclusive insurance and the role of supervision in consumer protection. He will showcase the Philippine experience and learnings in Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms.
The 2014 theme of the conference is “Local to Glocal” a portmanteau transformed into Glocalisation. The conference buzzword denotes the adaptation of a product or service specifically to each locality or culture in which it is sold and is similar to internationalisation.
This year’s conference country host, Pakistan has been prominent in the region due to resilient and rapidly growing insurance market with business and investment opportunities for regional and foreign players.
